Westernisation & India

A common and genuine fear amongst Indians is the quick westernisation that is leading towards the gradual decline of our culture, tradition and valuable values. Infarct western goods, dresses, food, festivals, language and moreover the western thoughts are strongly influencing the Indian culture.
Modernisation should not be confused with Westernisation.
In the past few years, there is a drastic change in our historic Indian culture, due to strong western influence.
India is a country of festivals, majorly, Diwali, Holi, and a lot more, these are been celebrated from long before but now there is a gradual decline in the celebration of Indian festival and much more importance is given to western festivals like New Year, Halloween, Christmas, valentines day and much more.
India is famous for its spices and traditional food, but due to the introduction of pizza, burger, hot dogs etc, our Indian food is steadily becoming the second choice of the majority of Indians.
Our country is also renowned for the way we wear clothes but it is also gradually getting replaced by western wears.
Among all points mentioned above most important point is that people are largely accepting nuclear family rather than the joint family. people are feeling free in living in a nuclear family and leaving their parents behind and moving on in their lives.
I am not against westernisation but not at the cost of losing the precious valuable Indian culture!
